Super 8 Cynics debuts with Gervais cover
The Super 8 Cynics debut single "Bitter Heart" is a brilliant cover version of the 1983 single by Ricky Gervais/Bill Macrae duo Seona Dancing. It stays true to the original and kicks its ass with appropriate gusto, hairspray and heart.

On June 27, 2012, the second single from the Danish band Nice Little Penguins - 'Love is a Rainbow' - was released. In a time were well written and well arranged pop songs is in very short supply the popular penguins exceed with their probably best song since 'Flying' in 1994.

Soluna Samay sings out loud
21 years old, Guatemalan born Dane Soluna Samay recently reached instant fame in Denmark when she won the Danish ticket for the Eurovision 2012 in Azerbaijan in May. But digging beyond the status as TV darling one finds music much more intense and attentive - an almost secret debut album from 2011.

Part of the way with Nice Little Penguins
Not counting a single-blurp midway the first pop-tunes (in English) from Danish harmony-champs Nice Little Penguins in six years has reached the stores. The EP 'Part Of The Way' takes the band just that far before the release of its sixth full studio expected early 2012.

Falling asleep to Eurovision 2011
A complete lack of originallity permeated this year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest held in Düsseldorf, Germany. Lots of sharp looking, young people designed to look and sound just like artists like Andreas Johnson, Cher, Take That and Britney Spears et al.

Melissa Polinar – a perfect grey Sunday soundtrack
We realized something awful today: Latebar is fiercely dominated by male artists and bands! Wonderful boys, obviously, and we love them all equally! But we need more girls to visit the bar, so on that note, I would like to introduce you to Melissa Polinar. We came across her video “Sing to me” on YouTube, (long story, can’t be bothered accounting for the details), and immediately fell in love. All the videos on her YouTube channel have served as our feel-good soundtrack to a grey Danish Sunday, all morning and way into the afternoon, and they have assisted the cappucinos and candles in keeping us warm. Plagiarism in Danish Eurovision entry?
For some reason one of the side-stories to the annual Eurovision Song Contest is always plagiarism. In 2010 the Danish winner sounded awfully like 'Every Breath You Take' by The Police. And this year's A Friend in London was also under siege just few seconds after they've won the Danish qualifier on Saturday.
